BACKGROUND
During my master's program, I found myself immersed in a world of learning and exploration within UI/UX design. It was during this time that a friend of mine, deeply entrenched in the world of freelancing, approached me with an intriguing opportunity. He was leading a project aimed at revolutionizing the way sales professionals prospect for leads, and he needed a UI/UX designer to join the team. Without hesitation, I volunteered to jump on board.
PROBLEM
Sales professionals face significant challenges in efficiently prospecting for leads, resulting in wasted time and missed opportunities. Existing prospecting tools are primarily designed for companies rather than individual sales reps, leading to inefficiencies and a lack of personalized insights. These tools often require constant manual refreshing to stay updated and fail to deliver real-time data on trigger events that could signal valuable sales opportunities, such as new hires, funding, acquisitions, mergers, and job postings.
Sales reps are at a disadvantage compared to their peers and competitors, as they struggle to identify and capitalize on high-quality leads in a timely manner. Without access to comprehensive and real-time information, sales reps find themselves spending excessive amounts of time prospecting, often without fruitful results.

USER RESEARCH
Since we were creating a product from scratch, we benefited from using the “double-diamond” approach and the Agile process. This methodology helped us iteratively conduct in-depth ideation, design and evaluation so that the application remains in line with Last Minute's value proposition.
I conducted one-on-one interviews with sales professionals to understand their workflows, pain points, and desired features in a prospecting tool. These interviews provided valuable qualitative data and helped uncover nuanced insights into user behaviours and motivations.
I conducted market research to analyze existing prospecting tools and identify gaps in the market. This helped inform our feature set and differentiate Leadhawk from competitors.
